Disability groups celebrate new national insurance scheme

Prime Minister Julia Gillard today announced the federal government will support a recommendation by the Productivity Commission to set up a National Disability Insurance Scheme.

And disability campaigners around the country are celebrating. But the new scheme won’t come in until 2014 – so what happens to people living with disability in the meantime?

Catherine Zengerer speaks with John Della Bosca from Every Australian Counts and South Australian MLC for the Dignity for Disability party, Kelly Vincent.
