Tottering Eurozone knocks Australia around

The European debt crisis hit home today as the value of Australian shares dumped a massive $35 billion overnight. Banking stocks were hit hardest with investors worried about exposure to Italian and Greek debt.

The question on everyone’s lips is, will euro survive or will we see a return to individual currencies? And if so how will Australia be affected in the long run?

Catherine Zengerer speaks with Professor Warwick McKibbon, Director of the ANU Research School of Economics.
