Retraining Injured Workers to Return to Work

Being injured at work is a traumatic and often life-changing experience. For many workers, it means entering a confusing world of medical appointments, reviews, return to work plans and legal processes.

These steps are often dealt with in isolation from each other – and don’t stop to look at how injured workers are coping with the fact that for many, they just want their health, and their old job back. And that may not always happen.

But an initiative by SA Unions and WorkCover aims to change that –  by taking a holistic approach to what injured workers need to help them get back to work – and feel good about it.

They launched the results of the project recently – Catherine Zengerer was there.
