Sister Centre in Dili Working for Women

The Working Women’s Centre in South Australia provides information, support, advice and advocacy services to women on work-related issues.

But not everyone is lucky enough to have one of these centres. Over the last couple of years Working Women’s Centres in Australia  have been working with the women of East Timor to build a sister centre in Dili with the help of APHEDA – Union Aid Abroad –  and the local union movement.

Director of the Working Women’s Centre in Adelaide, Sandra Dann, tells Catherine Zengerer how the project came about.
